A shift in the seasonal pattern is drawing nearer

Investors continue to anticipate a restrictive central bank policy and the resulting headwinds for bonds. At the same time, however, conflicting signals on the bond market are becoming more pronounced, particularly as bargain hunters are becoming increasingly active at the current yield levels. For equities, rising interest rates remain a latent burden. These concerns are already reflected in market sentiment. In the medium term, however, investors are trying to look beyond the interest rate headwinds and are hoping for a swift end to the current weak seasonal trend in equities.
