No fear – cognitive dissonance as the reason

The dynamic sell-off of equities in the second half of the week caused little concern. Sentiment barometers across all stock markets are neutral. In the medium term, however, the past week has changed investor perspectives. Almost everywhere, the bias is clearly in reverse mode. All in all, there are signs of cognitive dissonance. Precious metals remain in demand, while bonds continue to languish. On the currency side, irritation is growing significantly and a volatility impulse is in the making.
